Sunday Ministries

  • Sunday Morning Discipleship

Sunday morning discipleship takes place from 9:45am - 10:45am on Sunday mornings. We have classes for Preschool thru 5th grade.

The preschool/kindergarten classes have fun learning and discussing Bible stories as part of the "Rock Solid" quarterly Bible study curriculum.

1st and 2nd Graders are grouped together and will be finishing their lessons about 13 Very Bad Days...And How God Fixed Them through the end of June. Also, incorporated into the May and June schedule will be a special Mother's Day lesson, a video lesson for Memorial Day Sunday and a Mission lesson in June. This group learns through fun, engaging activities and games.

3rd thru 5th Graders are learning more about the Bible and are using the 13 Very Bad Days...And How God Fixed Them through the end of June as well. This class will use one of their lesson times together in June to learn about and to do some hands-on mission. This class is taught using interactive, entertaining activities and games.

All children are welcome. Please stop by and join us on Sunday mornings. We are always looking for new volunteers to help teach or substitute for our classes. If you are interested or if you have any questions, please contact Rita Stewart at or at 794-4522.

  • Nursery Care

New Life offers nursery care for infants and toddlers up to age 4 during Sunday morning discipleship and during the 11am worship service. The nursery will provide each parent or guardian with a beeper to insure the further safety and security of their children. The nursery is located in room 101.

Hours for the Sunday morning nursery are from 9:30am - 12:30pm.

  • Children's Worship

On the 2nd - 5th Sundays of the month, New Life United Methodist church invites children from 4yrs through 2nd grade to enter into their own special worship service following the children's sermon during the 11am service.

We have prayerfully outlined an order of worship designed to meet the spiritual growth and worship experience for our children at New Life. The children are being introduced to new praise songs, encouraged to bring an offering unto Jesus each week so that it can help with others coming to know and love Jesus, learning and reciting the Lords Prayer each week, have praise and worship time and of course a Bible story learning point.

Children up to age 4 are welcome in the nursery during the 11 am worship hour. On first Sunday's only, children ages 4-5th grade are encouraged to attend children's worship for music.

Children's worship is located in room 202/204.

  • Piggy Bank Offering

In an effort to ensure the children of New Life feel a part of the new ministry center expansion project, children are able to save up and put change in a Piggy Bank offering. All proceeds from the Piggy bank offering go toward our ministry center expansion project. Children are able to make donations anytime. They can put their change in the Offering Bank located directly inside the sanctuary towards the back.

  • Mission "In-ings"

Children participate in at least six different missions and service projects through the year as part of the regular Sunday discipleship, Children's Worship and Vacation Bible School experiences. Some such projects include making care packages for those in need, wrapping gifts to hand out to sick children, and collecting food for the Bainbridge Community Center in Richmond.
