Library Usage

How Does This Work?

Each bookshelf was assigned a unique electronic location. Then all the physical resources in our library which had an ISBN barcode on them were manually scanned at their current location and assigned to the bookshelf's electronic location. This data was then transferred to Google books and Amazon for online display.

What Are The Bookshelf Locations?

The following link will display all of the bookshelves in the library and their associated electronic locations. When you come into the library, the bookshelves are on your right. The bookcase for the 400 series of locations is closest to the door. Each bookshelf will be physically identified with its location number and a QR code for mobile devices. Also, each resource will receive a color-coded dot combination on its spine or front cover to identify its bookshelf location when returning the resource.

How Do I Checkout A Resource?

Just find what your looking for and take it off the shelf. If the resource does not have a color-coded dot combination on its spine or front cover, please remember which shelf location you got it from, if possible.

What About Returning A Resource?

If the resource has a color-coded dot combination on its spine or front cover, simply return it back to the matching shelf location. Exact placement within the shelf is not necessary. We are only maintaining shelf location of the resource, so all you need to do is return it back to its shelf.

If your resource does not have a color-coded dot combination on its spine or front cover and you cannot remember which location it was from, you can place it into shelf location 105 and someone from our library team will return it back to its shelf.

Responsibility and honesty play a big part in our church's public library. We expect folks to gently use our resources and return them to their proper shelf location in a reasonable amount of time. This preserves the state of our library for all to use.

What If I Want To Add A Resource?

Great! Please carefully consider new resources. It should be relevant and somewhat current. We have limited space in our library, so we want to be sure we are receiving quality resources for others to use.

Please use our Add A Resource page. There are instructions you should follow plus its the most efficient way to help us maintain the accuracy of the library for others.
