Music Files

Welcome New Life Musician,

This page and its links can be used to access the music we are doing on a weekly basis. You can access the "Music Files" area where you will find the variety of styles for each song and you can print out exactly what you need to be prepared. Be blessed and may God continue to use your willing heart and talent to serve His people through worship.

Rules for Use:

  1. Please do us a favor and keep this page specifically for New Life musicians as we pay licensing fees for this music and I have to keep track of the downloads and report them monthly. This is a privilege to be able to use the web in this fashion and we want to continue to do so as we strive for excellence in worship.
  2. Any music that you print should be kept in a folder or notebook so you can reuse it as we do want to respect the Earth we have been given...not to mention it would be really hard if we had to go back to chisel and stone. If you need a binder,  and the church will provide one for you.

Instructions / Key:

  1. Click on the link below labeled "Music Files".
  2. Find the song you want to print (You can sort by using the "sort by" option at the top-left.
  3. Choose the type of file you want and the correct key. The key will be listed to the right of each song in the "Song Order" portion of the email that will go out weekly. You will see a song with the following components to help you decide what you need.
  4. Open the file and print or Save to your computer and then print.

Example File: Away_In_A_Manger-F-hs

We have the song name - The key of this version - the type of notation on the file
Away In A Manger In the key of F this is a Hymn Sheet

**Please note that there are a number of songs in more than one key to assist guitar players using a CAPO for easier playing. To continue our example there is another file for guitarist that is: Away_In_A_Manger-D-cs. This allows the guitarist to play with a CAPO 3 in the key of D and it sounds in F as the rest of the band is playing.

Here is a breakdown of the options:

cs - The Chord Sheet is typically used by the bass, percussion, and others that only are looking for the words and maybe the chords.
ls - The Lead Sheet is usually used by the worship leader and maybe the pianist to have the exact notation of the melody line and the chords.
hs - The Hymn Sheet is typically used by the choir and vocalists to have the harmony parts written in SATB format when available.
