Last day of a mission trip is always so difficult! Many of us did not sleep well last night as we were up thinking of all the work we really wanted to accomplish before leaving the work sight for the last time.
What a difference a day makes! Today, we were really able to see the fruits of our labor as we began to actually lay new flooring down in Mr. Cecil's kitchen. His grandson was also there to lend a hand, which we all appreciated.
All five floors have been removed from Mr. Cecil's kitchen. Yes, one flooring laid on top of each other for over 100 years! Using two railroad jacks we raised a section of the two story house over six inches and with the paint being laid on the outside things are looking good!
It was a great first day of mission here in McDowell County! Our 18 member team was spread across three projects in three different locations so we have
18 suitcase packed and loaded, as well as plenty of tools and school supplies as our team of 18 head to McDowell, West Virginia to work with Experience Mission. There will be 67....
Our work is done here in McDowell County and we are sad to leave all our new friends. We have worked hard this week and now it's time to enjoy some of West Virginia's beautiful mountains and rivers with our fun day at the Adventures On The Gorge!!
